"Stress is now as common as the common cold." Work stress results in poor motivation, lost concentration and less than your best performance. More work days are lost through stess than any other factor. This used to be something to hide. Now it is considered responsible to admit to stress and to take appropriate steps to manage or reduce stress factors.

Stress can be understood as the gap between the DEMANDS you PERCEIVE are being made on you and your perceived RESOURCES to meet these demands.

Stress can be felt by anyone at any level in in organisation. Some of its symptoms are: loss of sleep, undue worrying, anxiety, thoughts that go round and round in your head and will not be banished, increased heart rate, loss of appetite, emotional outbreaks, panic attacks.
